Glennis Grace

Glennis Grace (born June 19, 1978) is a Dutch singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality. She first gained recognition in 1994 when she won the Dutch version of the television show "The Voice". Since then, she has released six studio albums, all of which have been certified platinum or higher in the Netherlands. She has also starred in several films and television shows and has hosted her own talk show.

Early Life and Career

Glennis Grace was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, to a Surinamese father and a Dutch mother. She began singing at a young age and took formal singing lessons from the age of 12. In 1994, she auditioned for the Dutch version of the television show "The Voice" and won the competition. Following her victory, she signed a record deal with Universal Music Group and released her debut album, "Glennis", in 1995. The album was a commercial success, selling over 100,000 copies in the Netherlands and reaching number one on the Dutch Album Chart.

Music Career

After the success of her debut album, Glennis Grace released her second album, "Afscheid", in 1997. The album reached number two on the Dutch Album Chart and was certified platinum in the Netherlands. She followed up with her third album, "One Night Only", in 1999, which reached number one on the Dutch Album Chart and was certified platinum in the Netherlands.

In 2001, Glennis Grace released her fourth album, "Grootste Hits", a compilation album of her greatest hits. The album reached number one on the Dutch Album Chart and was certified double platinum in the Netherlands. She followed up with her fifth album, "Pure", in 2003, which reached number one on the Dutch Album Chart and was certified platinum in the Netherlands.

In 2007, Glennis Grace released the album, "The Look of Love", which reached number one on the Dutch Album Chart and was certified gold in the Netherlands. She followed up with her sixth album, "This Is My Voice", in 2009, which reached number one on the Dutch Album Chart and was certified gold in the Netherlands.

Acting Career

In addition to her music career, Glennis Grace has also starred in several films and television shows. In 1995, she made her feature film debut in the Dutch film "Alles is Familie". She followed up with roles in the films "Soul Kitchen" (2009), "Black Book" (2006), and "The Heineken Kidnapping" (2011).

Glennis Grace has also starred in several television shows, including "The Voice of Holland" (2010-2012), "Glennis Grace Presents" (2012-2013), and "Glennis Grace & The Ladies of Soul" (2014).

Personal Life

Glennis Grace was married to Leendert van Moorsel from 2006 to 2013. They have three children together.

Glennis Grace has been nominated for several awards throughout her career. She has won a TMF Award for Best Female Singer and a Zilveren Harp. She has also been nominated for an Edison Award and a Gouden Kalf Award.
