Sergio Busquets
Sergio Busquets Burgos (born 16 July 1988) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Barcelona and the Spain national team.
Considered one of the greatest defensive midfielders of all time, Busquets has spent his entire professional career with Barcelona, making over 650 appearances and winning 30 major trophies, including eight La Liga titles, seven Copa del Rey titles, three UEFA Champions League titles, and three FIFA Club World Cups.
With the Spain national team, Busquets has made over 140 appearances and won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2012 UEFA European Championship.
Early life and career
Busquets was born in Sabadell, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. He started playing football at the age of six, joining the local team CFU Barberà Andalucía. In 2005, he moved to Barcelona's youth academy, La Masia.
Busquets made his debut for Barcelona B in the 2007–08 season. He quickly became a regular starter for the team, and helped them win the Segunda División B title in 2009.

Busquets made his debut for Barcelona's first team on 13 September 2008, in a 4–0 win over Racing Santander. He quickly became a regular starter for the team, and helped them win the treble of La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League in the 2008–09 season.
Busquets has continued to be a key player for Barcelona in the years since. He has helped the team win eight La Liga titles, seven Copa del Rey titles, three UEFA Champions League titles, and three FIFA Club World Cups.
International career
Busquets made his debut for the Spain national team on 11 February 2009, in a 2–0 friendly win over England. He was a member of the Spain squad that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2012 UEFA European Championship.
Busquets has made over 140 appearances for Spain, and is the team's all-time leading appearance maker in competitive matches.
Playing style
Busquets is a defensive midfielder who is known for his passing range, tactical awareness, and ability to read the game. He is also a good tackler and interceptor.
Busquets has been praised by many of his contemporaries, including Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta, and Pep Guardiola.
Personal life
Busquets is married to Elena Galera. They have two children, Enzo and Bruna.
Busquets is a devout Catholic. He has a tattoo of the Virgin Mary on his right arm.
