Willy Chirino is a Cuban-American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He is considered one of the most important figures in the history of Latin music, and is known for his salsa, Latin jazz, Afro-Cuban jazz, Cuban son, and bolero songs.

Chirino was born in Consolación del Sur, Cuba, in 1947. He began his musical career in 1965 as a member of the band Los Broncos. In 1970, he moved to the United States and joined the band La Sonora Dinamita. In 1975, he released his first solo album, "La Salsa de Chirino." The album was a commercial success, and Chirino quickly became one of the most popular salsa singers in the world.

Chirino has released over 20 solo albums and has sold over 10 million records worldwide. He has won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards and three Latin Grammy Awards. He has also been honored by the Cuban American National Council and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation.
