Club career:
Marcos Acuña began his club career with Ferro Carril Oeste in 2009, making his professional debut on August 15, 2009, in a Primera B Nacional match against Patronato. He quickly established himself as a regular starter for the club, helping them gain promotion to the Argentine Primera División in 2010.
In 2014, Acuña moved to Racing Club, where he continued to impress with his performances. He helped the club win the Argentine Primera División title in 2014 and was named the league's Young Player of the Year.
His performances for Racing Club caught the attention of European clubs, and in 2017, he joined Portuguese club Sporting CP. He spent two seasons at Sporting CP, making 59 appearances and scoring 2 goals.
