Liza Soberano (born January 4, 1998) is a Filipina-American actress and model. She is best known for her roles as Maria Agnes Calay in the television series Forevermore (2014-2015), Betty Aberasturi in the film Just The Way You Are (2015), and Jenny Mercado in the television series Dolce Amore (2016).
Early Life and Career
Liza Soberano was born in Santa Clara, California to a Filipina mother and a Filipino-American father. She grew up in Visalia, California and attended El Diamante High School.
Soberano began her career as a model at the age of 12. She was discovered by a talent scout while she was walking in a mall. She then signed with Star Magic, the talent management arm of ABS-CBN, and began appearing in commercials and television shows.
Acting Career
Soberano made her acting debut in the television series Forevermore (2014-2015) alongside Enrique Gil. The series was a commercial success and helped to launch Soberano's career.
In 2015, Soberano starred in the film Just The Way You Are opposite Piolo Pascual. The film was a critical and commercial success and earned Soberano a nomination for a FAMAS Award for Best Actress.
In 2016, Soberano starred in the television series Dolce Amore opposite Enrique Gil. The series was a commercial success and helped to solidify Soberano's status as one of the most popular actresses in the Philippines.
Personal Life
Soberano is in a relationship with Enrique Gil. The couple have been together since 2014.
Soberano is also an active philanthropist. She has worked with various charities, including the Philippine Red Cross and the Save the Children Foundation.
