Guy Pearce is an English-born Australian actor. He is known for his roles in the films Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994), L.A. Confidential (1997), Memento (2000), The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), and Iron Man 3 (2013).
Pearce began his acting career in Australian television, appearing in soap operas and miniseries. He made his film debut in the 1986 film Heaven Tonight. In 1994, he starred in the Australian film Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which was a critical and commercial success. The film earned Pearce a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
In 1997, Pearce starred in the American film L.A. Confidential. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it earned Pearce a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
In 2000, Pearce starred in the American film Memento. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it earned Pearce an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

Personal life
Pearce was born in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England, to Anne Cocking and Stuart Pearce. His father was a test pilot and his mother was a housewife. Pearce has two older sisters, Tracy and Verity.
Pearce grew up in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. He attended Geelong Grammar School and studied drama at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Pearce was married to actress Kate Mestitz from 1997 to 2015. They have one son together, Monte Pearce.
Pearce is a supporter of the Australian Red Cross and the National Breast Cancer Foundation. He is also a patron of the Australian Film Institute.
