Maribel Guardia
Maribel Guardia (born May 29, 1959) is a Costa Rican-Mexican actress, singer, and television host. She is known for her work in telenovelas, films, and theater productions. Guardia has also released several music albums and has hosted a number of television shows.
Early life
Guardia was born in San José, Costa Rica. She began her career as a model and went on to win the Miss Costa Rica pageant in 1978. She represented Costa Rica at the Miss Universe pageant that year, where she placed third.
Career
Guardia began her acting career in 1980, appearing in the telenovela "Vanessa". She went on to star in a number of other telenovelas, including "Tú o nadie" (1985), "Sensación de vivir" (1996), and "Amigas y rivales" (2001).
In addition to her telenovela work, Guardia has also appeared in a number of films, including "Pedro Navaja" (1984), "El rey de los taxistas" (1986), and "La mujer que nadie quiso" (1990). She has also starred in a number of theater productions, including "A Chorus Line" (1989) and "The Sound of Music" (1991).
Guardia has also released several music albums, including "Maribel Guardia" (1988), "Corazón de seda" (1990), and "Amor y amistad" (1992). She has also hosted a number of television shows, including "Sábado gigante" (1986-1990) and "La hora pico" (2000-2007).
Personal life
Guardia was married to Mexican singer Joan Sebastian from 1992 to 1996. They had one son together, Julián Figueroa. Guardia is currently married to Mexican businessman Marco Chacón.
