Giannis Sina Ugo Antetokounmpo (born December 6, 1994), also known as The Greek Freak, is a Greek professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and an NBA champion.
Antetokounmpo was born in Athens, Greece, to Nigerian parents. He began playing basketball at the age of 13. He played for the youth teams of Filathlitikos and Glyfada before joining the senior team of Filathlitikos in the Greek second division in 2012.
Antetokounmpo was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. He quickly became one of the most promising young players in the league. In the 2016-17 season, he led the Bucks to their first playoff appearance in 18 years.
