Club Career
Ángel Mena began his professional career in Ecuador with Emelec in 2007. He quickly established himself as a key player for the team, helping them win the Ecuadorian Serie A titles in 2009 and 2013. In 2017, he moved to Cruz Azul in Mexico, where he spent two seasons before joining Club León in 2019. With León, he won the Liga MX Apertura title in 2020 and the Leagues Cup in 2021.
International Career
Mena made his debut for the Ecuador national team in 2015. He has since represented his country at the Copa América in 2015, 2019, and 2021, as well as the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
Playing Style
Mena is a versatile attacking midfielder who is known for his dribbling skills, passing ability, and goalscoring prowess. He is also a set-piece specialist and has scored many goals from free kicks and penalties.
