Marek Hamšík
Marek Hamšík is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Turkish Süper Lig club Trabzonspor and the Slovakia national team. He is regarded as one of the greatest Slovak players of all time.
Hamšík began his career at Jupie Podlavice before moving to Slovan Bratislava in 2002. He made his senior debut for Slovan in 2004 and quickly established himself as a regular in the first team. In 2007, he moved to Italian club Napoli for a fee of €5.5 million.
Hamšík spent eight seasons at Napoli, making over 400 appearances and scoring over 100 goals. He won the Coppa Italia twice with Napoli, in 2012 and 2014. He also helped the club finish as Serie A runners-up in 2018.
In 2019, Hamšík moved to Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang for a fee of €20 million. He spent two seasons at Dalian Yifang, making over 50 appearances and scoring 12 goals.
In 2021, Hamšík moved to Swedish club IFK Göteborg. He made over 20 appearances for the club, scoring 2 goals.
In 2022, Hamšík moved to Turkish club Trabzonspor. He has made over 10 appearances for the club, scoring 1 goal.
Hamšík has made over 130 appearances for the Slovakia national team, scoring over 20 goals. He has represented his country at the FIFA World Cup twice, in 2010 and 2018.
