John Abraham (born 17 December 1972) is an Indian actor, producer and former model. He has appeared in over 50 Hindi films, and is one of the highest-paid actors in India. Abraham has received several awards, including three Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award.
Early life and career
John Abraham was born in Bombay, Maharashtra, India, to a Malayali Syrian Christian father and a Parsi mother. He has two older brothers, Alan and Hrithik, and a younger sister, Anjali. Abraham was educated at St. Mary's School in Bombay and then Jai Hind College.
After completing his studies, Abraham began working as a model. He appeared in several television commercials and print ads, and also won the Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 1999. In 2000, Abraham made his acting debut in the film Jism. The film was a critical and commercial success, and Abraham received a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
Acting career
Abraham has since appeared in over 50 Hindi films, including Dhoom (2004), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), Dostana (2008), New York (2009), and Madras Cafe (2013). He has also produced several films, including Vicky Donor (2012), Aankhen 2 (2017), and Batla House (2019).
