Mauricio Aníbal Isla Isla (born 12 June 1988) is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Turkish club Fenerbahçe and the Chile national team.
Club career
Isla began his career at Universidad Católica, where he made his professional debut in 2007. He helped the club win the Primera División de Chile Clausura tournament in 2009. In 2010, he moved to Italian club Udinese, where he spent four seasons. He then joined Juventus in 2014, where he won the Serie A title in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, he moved to English club Queens Park Rangers, where he spent one season. He then joined Cagliari in 2017, where he spent two seasons. In 2019, he moved to Fenerbahçe.
International career
Isla made his international debut for Chile in 2007. He has represented his country at the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and 2014, and the Copa América in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2021. He was part of the Chile team that won the Copa América in 2015 and 2016.
Personal life
Isla is married to Gala Caldirola, a Chilean model and TV personality. They have two children together.
