Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha (born June 3, 1987) is an Indian actress and singer who works in Hindi films. The daughter of actor Shatrughan Sinha and actress Poonam Sinha, she made her acting debut in the 2010 action film Dabangg, opposite Salman Khan. Her performance earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

Sinha has since starred in several commercially successful films, including Rowdy Rathore (2012), Son of Sardaar (2012), Dabangg 2 (2012), Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014), Lingaa (2014), Lootera (2013), Akira (2016), Noor (2017), Ittefaq (2017), Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi (2018), Kalank (2019), Mission Mangal (2019), Dabangg 3 (2019), and Bhuj: The Pride of India (2021).

In addition to her acting career, Sinha has also released several singles, including "Ishqholic" (2014), "Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai" (2015), and "Nachle Na" (2016). She has also appeared as a judge on the reality television show Indian Idol Junior (2015–2018).

Sinha is one of the most popular and highest-paid actresses in India. She has won several awards for her performances, including the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, the Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow – Female, and the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.

Personal life

Sinha was born on June 3, 1987, in Mumbai, India, to actor Shatrughan Sinha and actress Poonam Sinha. She has two brothers, Luv Sinha and Kussh Sinha. Sinha attended Arya Vidya Mandir School in Mumbai and later studied fashion design at Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University.

Sinha is a trained classical dancer and has performed in several stage shows. She is also an avid reader and enjoys traveling.
