Maine Mendoza
Maine Mendoza (born March 3, 1995) is a Filipino actress, television host, comedian, and singer. She rose to fame in 2015 as the "dubsmash queen" after her Dubsmash videos went viral on social media. She is best known for her role as Yaya Dub in the noontime variety show Eat Bulaga!.
Mendoza was born in Santa Maria, Bulacan, Philippines. She studied at the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she took up a degree in psychology. She dropped out of school in 2015 to pursue a career in show business.
Mendoza's first major television appearance was on the noontime variety show Eat Bulaga! in 2015. She was cast as Yaya Dub, the nanny of the character Lola Nidora (played by Wally Bayola). Yaya Dub quickly became a popular character, and her love team with Alden Richards, known as AlDub, became one of the most popular love teams in Philippine history.
In addition to her work on Eat Bulaga!, Mendoza has also appeared in several films, including My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore (2015), Imagine You & Me (2016), and Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles (2018). She has also released several albums, including "Maine" (2016) and "Maine & More" (2018).
Mendoza is a recipient of numerous awards, including the PMPC Star Awards for Television's Best Female Comedy Performer (2016 and 2017) and the Box Office Entertainment Awards' Phenomenal Box Office Star (2016). She was also named one of Forbes Asia's 30 Under 30 in 2017.
Mendoza is a role model for many young people in the Philippines. She is known for her positive attitude, her hard work, and her dedication to her craft. She is also an advocate for mental health awareness.
