Sabri Fejzullahu (born 23 January 1951) is a politician from Kosovo. He was the first Prime Minister of Kosovo from 1990 to 1991.

Early life and education

Fejzullahu was born on 23 January 1951 in Prishtina, Kosovo, which was then part of Yugoslavia. He graduated from the University of Pristina, where he studied law.

Political career

Fejzullahu began his political career in the 1980s, when he joined the League of Communists of Yugoslavia (LCY). He was elected to the Assembly of Kosovo in 1989. In 1990, he was appointed Prime Minister of Kosovo by the Assembly.

As Prime Minister, Fejzullahu led Kosovo through a period of political and economic turmoil. In 1991, the Assembly of Kosovo declared independence from Yugoslavia. The Yugoslav government responded by sending troops into Kosovo, and a war began.

Fejzullahu resigned as Prime Minister in 1991, and he fled to Albania. He returned to Kosovo in 1999, after the end of the Kosovo War.

Since his return to Kosovo, Fejzullahu has continued to be active in politics. He has served as a member of the Assembly of Kosovo and as Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Personal life

Fejzullahu is married and has two children. He speaks Albanian, Serbian, and English.
