Tia Carrere (born January 2, 1967) is an American actress, singer, and former model. She is known for her roles as Cassandra Wong in the action-comedy film "Wayne's World" (1992), Juno Skinner in the action film "True Lies" (1994), and Sydney Fox in the television series "Relic Hunter" (1999–2002).
Early Life and Career
Tia Carrere was born Althea Rae Duhinio Janairo in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is of Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino, and Spanish descent. Carrere began her career as a model, appearing in print ads and commercials. In 1985, she made her acting debut in the television series "Cover Up". She went on to appear in several other television shows, including "MacGyver", "Magnum, P.I.", and "Quantum Leap".
Rise to Fame
Carrere's breakthrough role came in 1992, when she starred opposite Mike Myers in the comedy film "Wayne's World". The film was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish Carrere as a rising star.
