Astor Piazzolla

Astor Piazzolla (March 11, 1921 – July 4, 1992) was an Argentine tango composer, bandoneon player, and arranger. He is considered one of the most important figures in the history of tango.

Piazzolla was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, to Italian parents. He began playing the bandoneon at a young age and by the time he was 17 had formed his own tango orchestra.
