Travis Fimmel

Travis Fimmel (born 15 July 1979) is an Australian actor and model. He is best known for his roles as Ragnar Lothbrok in the History Channel series Vikings (2013–2017), Anduin Lothar in the film Warcraft (2016), and Marcus Kane in The CW series The 100 (2014–2017).

Early life and career

Fimmel was born in Echuca, Victoria, Australia. He is the youngest of three children born to Jennie (née Warner) and Chris Fimmel. He has two older brothers, Nathan and Brett. Fimmel grew up on a dairy farm in Lockington, Victoria. He attended St Joseph's College, Echuca, and studied commercial cookery at Box Hill Institute of TAFE.

Fimmel began his modelling career in 2002 when he was discovered by a modelling scout at a gym in Melbourne. He signed with Chadwick Models and appeared in campaigns for brands such as Calvin Klein, Versace, and Gap. In 2003, Fimmel was named one of the "World's Sexiest Men" by People magazine.

Acting career

Fimmel made his acting debut in the 2003 television series Tarzan. He played the title role in the series, which aired for one season. In 2006, Fimmel starred in the film Restraint. He played the role of Dale, a man who is held captive by a sadistic kidnapper.

In 2009, Fimmel starred in the film The Experiment. He played the role of Helwig, a prisoner who is subjected to a psychological experiment. The film was a critical and commercial success.

In 2013, Fimmel starred in the History Channel series Vikings. He played the role of Ragnar Lothbrok, a legendary Viking warrior and king. The series was a critical and commercial success, and Fimmel received praise for his performance. He left the series after four seasons in 2017.

In 2016, Fimmel starred in the film Warcraft. He played the role of Anduin Lothar, a human commander who leads the Alliance of Lordaeron against the Horde. The film was a commercial success, but it received mixed reviews from critics.

In 2017, Fimmel starred in the CW series The 100. He played the role of Marcus Kane, a former Chancellor of the Ark who is stranded on Earth with a group of other survivors. Fimmel left the series after five seasons in 2020.

Personal life

Fimmel is in a relationship with American actress Paula Patton. They have one child together, a son named Wyatt McCoy Fimmel (born 2020).

Fimmel is also an avid surfer and skier. He enjoys spending time outdoors and travelling.
