Goran Višnjić
Goran Višnjić (born September 9, 1972) is a Croatian actor. He is best known for his roles as Dr. Luka Kovač on the NBC medical drama ER, Garcia Flynn on the ABC science fiction drama Time After Time, and Ante Gotovina on the Showtime drama Homeland.
Early life and education
Višnjić was born in Šibenik, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia (present-day Croatia). He studied acting at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, Croatia.
Career
Višnjic began his acting career in the early 1990s, appearing in several Croatian films and television shows. In 1997, he made his American debut in the film Peacemaker. The following year, he was cast as Dr. Luka Kovač on the NBC medical drama ER, a role he played for six seasons.
After leaving ER, Višnjić starred in several films, including Pretty Woman (2000), The Deep End (2001), and Elektra (2005). He also had recurring roles on the television shows 24 (2006-2007) and Dollhouse (2009-2010).
In 2012, Višnjić was cast as Garcia Flynn on the ABC science fiction drama Time After Time. The show was canceled after one season. In 2013, he joined the cast of the Showtime drama Homeland, playing the role of Ante Gotovina.
Višnjić has also directed several short films and television episodes.
Personal life
Višnjić married Croatian actress Ivana Vrdoljak in 1999. They have three children together.
