Lautaro Javier Martínez (born 22 August 1997) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a striker for Serie A club Inter Milan and the Argentina national team.
Early life and career
Martínez was born in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. He began his career with local club Liniers, before joining Racing Club in 2013. He made his debut for Racing Club in 2015, and quickly established himself as a key player for the team. In 2018, he helped Racing Club win the Argentine Primera División championship.
Inter Milan
In July 2018, Martínez joined Inter Milan for a fee of €25 million. He made his debut for Inter Milan in August 2018, and quickly became a regular starter for the team. He helped Inter Milan win the Serie A championship in 2021, and was named the league's best player for the season.
Argentina national team
Martínez made his debut for the Argentina national team in 2018. He was a member of the Argentina team that won the Copa América in 2021. He was also a member of the Argentina team that finished second in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
