Carlos Roberto Baute Jiménez (born March 8, 1971) is a Venezuelan singer-songwriter, actor, and television personality. He is best known for his Latin pop songs, such as "Colgando en tus manos", "Quién te quiere como yo", and "Te regalo". Baute has sold over 20 million records worldwide and has won numerous awards, including the Latin Grammy Award for Best Pop Male Album and the Premios Lo Nuestro Award for Male Artist of the Year.

Early life and career

Baute was born in Caracas, Venezuela, to Alfredo Baute and Mary Jiménez. He began his musical career at the age of 13, when he formed a band called Los Chamos. The band released two albums, but they did not achieve commercial success. In 1991, Baute left Los Chamos and began a solo career.
