Biography:
Hamed Haddadi is an Iranian professional basketball player who plays for Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He is the first Iranian player to play in the NBA, having played for the Memphis Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors.
Haddadi was born in Ahvaz, Iran, and began playing basketball at a young age. He quickly rose through the ranks of Iranian basketball, and was named to the national team at the age of 17. Haddadi helped Iran win the FIBA Asia Cup in 2007, and was named the tournament's MVP.
In 2008, Haddadi was drafted by the Toronto Raptors with the 43rd overall pick. He became the first Iranian player to be drafted into the NBA. Haddadi played two seasons with the Raptors, averaging 2.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
In 2010, Haddadi was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. He played three seasons with the Grizzlies, averaging 4.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
In 2013, Haddadi was traded to the Chicago Bulls. He played one season with the Bulls, averaging 2.6 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.
In 2014, Haddadi signed with the Sichuan Blue Whales of the CBA. He has since won two CBA championships and two CBA Finals MVP awards. Haddadi has also been named to the CBA All-Star team three times.
Haddadi is a member of the Iranian national basketball team. He has helped Iran qualify for the Olympic Games three times and the FIBA World Cup four times.
Haddadi is one of the most successful Iranian basketball players of all time. He has won numerous awards and championships at both the national and international level. He is also a role model for young Iranian basketball players.
