Fally Ipupa Nsimba (born December 14, 1977) is a Congolese singer, songwriter, dancer, philanthropist, and record producer. He is one of the most popular and successful African artists of all time, having sold over 30 million records worldwide. Ipupa is known for his unique style of music, which blends Congolese rumba, Ndombolo, Afrobeat, and Afro-pop. He is also known for his energetic live performances and his philanthropy.
Ipupa was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He began his music career in 1999 as a member of the band Quartier Latin International, led by Koffi Olomide. In 2006, Ipupa left Quartier Latin and released his debut solo album, "Droit Chemin". The album was a commercial success and helped to establish Ipupa as a solo artist.
