Václav Neckář
Václav Neckář (born October 23, 1943) is a Czech singer and actor. He is one of the most popular singers in the Czech Republic, with a career spanning over 50 years.
Neckář was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He began his music career in the early 1960s, singing in various rock and pop bands. In 1965, he joined the group Golden Kids, which quickly became one of the most popular bands in Czechoslovakia. The group released a number of hit songs, including "Jahody mražený" ("Frozen Strawberries") and "Pár minut" ("A Few Minutes").
In 1968, Neckář left Golden Kids to pursue a solo career. He released his debut solo album, "Václav Neckář", in 1969. The album was a commercial success, and Neckář quickly became one of the most popular singers in Czechoslovakia. He released a number of hit songs in the 1970s and 1980s, including "Stín katedrál" ("Shadow of the Cathedrals"), "Půlnoční vlak" ("Midnight Train"), and "Mýdlový princ" ("Soap Prince").
Neckář has also had a successful acting career. He has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including "The Cremator" (1969), "Valerie and Her Week of Wonders" (1970), and "The White Ship" (1982).
Neckář has received numerous awards for his work in music and acting. He has been awarded the Golden Nightingale Award for Best Male Singer six times, and he has also been awarded the Thalia Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
Neckář is still active in music today. He continues to release new albums and tour regularly. He is considered one of the most influential singers in Czech history.
In addition to his music and acting career, Neckář is also a philanthropist. He is the founder of the Václav Neckář Foundation, which supports children with disabilities.
