Early Life and Education
Emraan Hashmi was born on 24 March 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is the son of Anwar Hashmi, a journalist, and Maherah Hashmi, a homemaker. He has two brothers, Fahad Hashmi and Ayaan Hashmi.
Hashmi attended the Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai. He later studied at the Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, where he earned a degree in commerce.
Career
Hashmi began his career as an assistant director on the film "Raaz" (2002). He made his acting debut in the 2003 film "Footpath". He went on to star in a number of successful films, including "Murder" (2004), "Gangster" (2006), "Awarapan" (2007), "Jannat" (2008), "Raaz – The Mystery Continues" (2009), "Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai" (2010), "The Dirty Picture" (2011), "Jannat 2" (2012), "Ek Thi Daayan" (2013), "Raja Natwarlal" (2014), "Mr. X" (2015), "Azhar" (2016), "Raaz Reboot" (2016), "Baadshaho" (2017), "Cheat India" (2019), and "The Body" (2019).
In addition to his acting career, Hashmi has also produced and directed several films. He produced the films "Tumsa Na Ho Payega" (2004), "Calcutta Mail" (2003), and "Raaz – The Mystery Continues" (2009). He directed the film "Raja Natwarlal" (2014).
Personal Life
Hashmi married Parveen Shahani in 2014. They have two sons, Ayaan Hashmi and Issa Hashmi.
Hashmi is a vocal supporter of animal rights and has been involved in several campaigns to promote animal welfare. He is also a supporter of the LGBT community.
