Umaga

Umaga (born Edward Fatu; March 28, 1973 – December 4, 2009) was an American professional wrestler. He was best known for his time in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he performed under the ring name Umaga.

Fatu was born in San Francisco, California, and was of Samoan descent. He was the son of Solofa Fatu, Sr., a professional wrestler who competed as "High Chief" Peter Maivia, and Vera Fatu. He was also the brother of Rikishi and the cousin of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Fatu began his professional wrestling career in 1995, competing in the independent circuit. He later signed with WWE in 2002, and was assigned to their developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). He made his WWE debut in 2003, and quickly became one of the company's top villains.

Umaga was known for his intimidating appearance and his aggressive in-ring style. He was a two-time Intercontinental Champion and a one-time World Tag Team Champion. He also competed in the main event of WrestleMania 23 in 2007, where he faced John Cena for the WWE Championship.

Umaga's career was cut short by his death in 2009. He was found unresponsive in his home on December 4, 2009, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The cause of death was ruled to be an overdose of prescription drugs.
