Grigor Dimitrov
Grigor Dimitrov is a Bulgarian professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 3 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he first achieved on 20 November 2017. He is the first and only Bulgarian player to be ranked in the top 10.
Dimitrov was born in Haskovo, Bulgaria, on 16 May 1991. He began playing tennis at the age of five. He moved to Barcelona, Spain, at the age of 16 to train at the Sanchez-Casal Academy.
Dimitrov turned professional in 2008. He won his first ATP singles title at the 2013 Stockholm Open. He has since won a total of eight ATP singles titles, including the 2014 Brisbane International, the 2014 Sofia Open, the 2016 Acapulco Open, the 2017 Cincinnati Masters, and the 2018 Nitto ATP Finals.
Dimitrov has also represented Bulgaria in the Davis Cup and the Hopman Cup. He helped Bulgaria reach the semifinals of the Davis Cup in 2013 and 2017. He also won the Hopman Cup with Tsvetana Pironkova in 2012.
