Letitia Wright

Letitia Michelle Wright (born 31 October 1993) is a Guyanese-born British actress. She is known for playing Shuri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), beginning with Black Panther (2018), and then in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). She also starred in the television series Black Mirror (2011–2019), Humans (2015–2016), and Top Boy (2019).

Wright was born in Georgetown, Guyana, and moved to London with her family when she was seven years old. She began acting at the age of 16, appearing in small television roles before making her film debut in Victim (2011). She gained wider recognition for her role as Shuri in Black Panther, for which she received critical acclaim and was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Wright has also appeared in the films The Commuter (2018), Ready Player One (2018), and Death on the Nile (2022). In 2021, she starred in the independent film Mangrove, which was part of the Steve McQueen anthology series Small Axe.

Wright has been praised for her performances in both film and television. She has been described as a "rising star" and "one of the most exciting young actresses working today."

In addition to her acting career, Wright is also a vocal advocate for diversity in the entertainment industry. She has spoken out against the lack of representation of black women in film and television, and has called for more opportunities for black actors and actresses.
