Stanislav Wawrinka (born March 28, 1985) is a Swiss professional tennis player. He is a three-time Grand Slam singles champion, having won the Australian Open in 2014, the French Open in 2015, and the US Open in 2016. He is also the 2014 ATP World Tour Finals champion.

Wawrinka has been ranked as high as world No. 3 in singles and No. 1 in doubles. He has won 16 ATP Tour singles titles and 3 ATP Tour doubles titles.

Tennis career

Junior career

Wawrinka began playing tennis at the age of 8. He had a successful junior career, winning the junior singles title at the 2003 French Open and reaching the final of the 2003 US Open.

Professional career

Wawrinka turned professional in 2002. He won his first ATP Tour singles title in 2006 at the Croatia Open. He also reached the semifinals of the 2006 US Open, where he lost to Andy Roddick.
