Alejandro González Iñárritu
Alejandro González Iñárritu (born August 15, 1963) is a Mexican film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is known for his films Amores perros (2000), 21 Grams (2003), Babel (2006), Biutiful (2010), Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014), The Revenant (2015), and Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths (2022), which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Cinematography.
Iñárritu has received numerous accolades, including five Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, and aDirectors Guild of America Award. He is one of only three filmmakers to have won Best Director at the Academy Awards for back-to-back films, following his wins for Birdman and The Revenant. He is also the first Mexican filmmaker to win an Academy Award for Best Director.
Early life and education
Iñárritu was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He studied communications at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and film at the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos (CUEC).
Career
Iñárritu began his career as a radio host and producer in Mexico City. In 1991, he founded Zeta Films, a production company that produced commercials and short films.
Inárritu's first feature film, Amores perros (2000), was a critical and commercial success. The film won numerous awards, including the BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
Iñárritu's second feature film, 21 Grams (2003), was also a critical and commercial success. The film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Iñárritu's third feature film, Babel (2006), was a critical and commercial success. The film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Iñárritu's fourth feature film, Biutiful (2010), was a critical and commercial success. The film won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Personal life
Iñárritu is married to María Eladia Hagerman, a Mexican television producer. They have two children, María Eladia and Alejandro.
