Lucas Torreira Di Pascua (born 11 February 1996) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Galatasaray, on loan from Arsenal, and the Uruguay national team.
Torreira began his career in Uruguay with Montevideo Wanderers before moving to Italy in 2013 to join Pescara. He spent four seasons with Pescara, making 89 appearances and scoring 4 goals. In 2015, he was loaned to Sampdoria for a season, where he made 35 appearances and scored 2 goals.
In 2016, Torreira returned to Arsenal for a reported fee of £26 million. He quickly established himself as a key player in the Arsenal midfield, making 89 appearances and scoring 4 goals in two seasons. In 2018, he was named in the PFA Team of the Year.
In 2019, Torreira was loaned to Atletico Madrid for a season. He made 24 appearances for the Spanish club, helping them win the La Liga title.
In 2020, Torreira returned to Arsenal. He made 26 appearances for the club in the 2020-21 season, helping them win the FA Cup.
In 2021, Torreira was loaned to Fiorentina for a season. He made 35 appearances for the Italian club, scoring 5 goals.
In 2022, Torreira joined Galatasaray on loan.
Torreira has also been a regular member of the Uruguay national team since 2017. He has made 37 appearances for his country, scoring 1 goal.
